Cars (and Trucks) around Tucson November 2007

Thinking about a vehicle that can tackle the rugged dirt roads here in Southern Arizona? Jeep is the obvious choice. And when it comes to Jeep in Southern Arizona, Greg is the guy to talk to. He owns a Jeep and drives it off road, not just to work. Oh yea, he sells them too. Here are some pictures of a trip we took in this new four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Unlike the previous Wrangler Unlimited, a stretched version of the standard two-door, the 2007 Wrangler Unlimited uses a 20.6-inch-longer wheelbase to make room for full-size rear doors. It's 5.5 inches wider than previous Wranglers, same as the standard two-door Wrangler models.

The Tucson Police have a new photo enforcement van. Here are a few pics we took when it was in our neighborhood and driving around town.

It looks like a white van with some extra lights on it, except it's painted with the TPD Photo Force logo

Some people like to express themselves with colorful plastic sheets stuck to the back of their cars, here's a good example

This 1965 Plymouth Valiant 100 station wagon is used to haul a canoe among other tasks

This years Tour de Tucson was the largest yet. We visited the 66 an 81 Mile Starting lines. Here are some pictures of this years event

Riders swarmed the area getting to the starting line. Their cars clogged most of the surrounding parking lots. police were set up to direct traffic and keep things moving

Even though it's reported that Tucson has the lowest gas prices in the country, prices are still on the rise

Maybe more were out to practice for the big Tour de Tucson event, or because the weather has been good. Keep your eyes open, share the road and drive safely

Here was an obvious surveillance van set up along side a road, attempting to look like a simple van for sale.. sloppy camouflage at best

An older camper on a newer truck. It might look odd but this would be a great vehicle for camping, hunting or just about anything outdoors where you want to get to a remote area an bring a few comforts as well
